Dear Parents,

This letter is to inform you that a student in your child's classroom has a severe tree nut allergy – especially to peanut/nuts and sesame seeds.  Strict avoidance of peanut/nuts and sesame seed products is the only way to prevent a life threatening allergic reaction. We are asking your assistance in providing the student with a safe learning environment.

If exposed to peanuts/nuts or sesame seeds the student may develop a life threatening allergic reaction that requires emergency medical treatment. The greatest potential for exposure at school is to peanut products and nut products. Any exposure to peanut/ nuts or sesame seeds through contact on ingestion can cause a severe reaction. If your child has eaten peanuts/nuts or sesame seeds prior to coming to school please be sure your child's hands have been thoroughly washed prior to entering the school.

We appreciate your support of these procedures. Please complete and return the hard copy of this form that is in your child's bag so that we are certain that every family has received this information. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Dear parents,

I hope you are all ready for the big day tomorrow (28/08/'14)! One more sleep! As I mentioned  in my last post we held the interviews for the position created by Michelle's new role  as administrative principal. Múinteoir Aodán ó Mátharbhuí will be joining our team in gaelscoil Chionn  tSáile for the year and will be teaching Rang 5. I congratulate him and wish him the very best for the year!

**NB Very important letter on the site this evening about peanut/nut/seed allegries and hard copy going home tomorrow with the Junior Infants (only) for parents to sign and return to school on Friday 29th August 2014.

An scoil ag ath-oscailt agus roinnt athruithe / School re-opening and some changes

Tá sé dochreidte le ceapadh go bhfuil na laethanta saoire thart! Fé mar is eol daoibh beidh an scoil ag ath-oscailt ar an Déardaoin beag seo, an 28ú Lúnasa '14. Tá roinnt athruithe chun teacht i bhfeidhm i mbliana.

• Táim féin ag tógaint sos gairme ar feadh bliana. Beidh Múinteoir Michelle ag feidhmiú mar Phríomhoide fad atáim as baile. Táim chun a bheith thar lear ach beimíd i dteangmháil go leanúnach. Guím gach rath uirthi don bhliain.
• Beidh múinteoir nua á ceapadh amárach le tosnú i Rang 5 ar an Déardaoin (28.08.2014). Cuirfear an t-ainm chugaibh ar an gCéadaoin (27.08.'14) roimh oscailt na scoile ar an Déardaoin (28.08.2014).
• Beidh Múinteoir Siobhán Ní Bhruacháin ag múineadh rang 2 & 3 a bhí ag Siobhán Ní Núnáin anuiridh. Beidh Múinteoir Áine Ní Fhíobhra ag Rang 1 go dtí go gceadaítear an múinteoir nua eile don scoil. Mar gach bliain go dtí seo táimid gafa leis an bpaineal agus ní féidir linn an múinteoir nua a cur isteach ann go dtí go bhfuil an painéal glanta.
• Beidh traenáil iománaíochta ag tosnú go luath arís le hAntóin. Tosnóidh sé Dé hAoine an 5ú Meán Fómhair '14.
• Beidh bille ag dul abhaile go luath i gcóir gach dalta le costaisí árachais, páipéarachas, rince, spóirt srl. Bíonn sé le híoc gach bliain do gach dalta.

Dear parents,

It is hard to imagine that the holidays are over! As you know the school will be re-opening this Thursday, the 28th August '14. There are a few changes being put in place this year.

• I myself am taking a year's leave of absence. Múinteoir Michelle will be taking on the role as Principal while I am away. I will be abroad but we will be in close contact. I wish her the very best in her new role!
• We will be taking on a new teacher tomorrow to start with 5th Class this Thursday (28.08.2014). We will let you know his/her name on Wednesday (27.08.'14) before school opens on Thursday (28.08.'14).
• Múinteoir Siobhán Ní Bhruacháin will be teaching 2nd and 3rd Class that were Siobhán Ní Núnáin's 1st and 2nd Class last year. Múinteoir Áine Ní Fhíobhra will have 1st Class temporarily until the new teacher for the school will be sanctioned. As it has been for every year up to now, we are tied to the panel and we can't take on the new teacher until the panel is cleared.
• Hurling training with Anthony will start again soon. It will start on Friday the 5th September '14. So Senior Infants to 6th class should wear P.E. clothes that day.
• There will be a bill going home soon for every pupil including costs for insurance, stationery, dancing,sport etc. It has to be paid every year for each pupil in each class. This is separate to the book bill.

Gaelscoil After School Club

Should you wish to enrol your child in the club for the Sept-Dec term (beginning 28/08/14), please text the child’s name, the days of the week you wish to send your child to club, and your own name to Valerie on 087 6214277, by Wednesday, 20/08/14.

This service is to facilitate a one-time pick up for families and is only offered to children who have siblings finishing at 2:30pm, and to children availing of the bus service.  Places are limited and offered on a first come first served basis, with priority given to full time attendants.
