Sciath na Scol 2017
Comhghairdeas le foireann na gcailíní a shroich an cluiche leath cheannais don chéad uair riamh! (Reaching our first ever girls Sciath na Scol semi final.) Is éacht mór é seo agus táimid ana bhródúil astu ar fad.
Comhghairdeas chomh maith le foireann na mbuachaillí a bhuaigh a gcluiche leathcheannais V Knockavilla! Beidh níos mó eolas ag teacht go luath faoi seo.

Meabhrúcháin daoibh go mbeidh cead ag páistí teacht ar scoil gléasta suas ar an Aoine seo (27/10/2017) do oíche shamhna ar son carthanacht an Mercy Foundation. Má tá siad gléasta, ba cheart dóibh €2 a bhreith leo don Mercy. Níl iachaill ar éinne gléasadh gan amhras.
Beidh díolacháin cácaí Rang 5 ar siúl ar an Aoine an 27ú chomh maith. Ar deireadh thiar thall! Beidh roinnt airgead - cúpla Euro ag teastáil ó na páistí scoile eile chun rud éigin a cheannach.
Toisc nach deireadh téarma atá i gceist NÍ BHEIDH leath lá. Beidh na páistí ag críochnú ag an gnáth am.
Dear parents,
A reminder that the children have permission to dress up coming to school this Friday (27/10/2017) for Halloween for the Mercy Foundation charity. If they are dressed up, they should bring €2 with them for the Mercy. There is no obligation on anyone to dress up, of course.
5th Class will have a cake sale on Friday 27th also. At long last! The other children will need some money - a couple of euro to buy something.
As it is not an end of term, there will NOT be a half day. The children will be finishing up at the normal time.

Praghas/Price: €50 páiste amháin, €85 beirt pháiste, €115 triúr páiste. (Early drop off at 08.50 a.m. is available, with a fee of €5 extra per child in total.)
Beidh dhá ghrúpa, sóisearach agus sinsearach. Ealaín agus spóirt (ag brath ar an aimsir) a bheidh i gceist, comh maith le bácáil, bac -chúrsa agus tóraíocht taisce. Fáilte rompu gléasadh suas ar an lá deirneach.
There will be a junior group and a senior group. They will enjoy a range of activities each day, a variety of art, sport (weather dependent) such as basketball, rounders, soccer, GAA, obstacle course, playground games, as well as a treasure hunt, fancy dress and baking on one of the days.
Junior-6th class pupils welcome, but spaces are limited. Children from all schools welcome.

Aonach na leabhair/ Bookfair

D'eirigh linn €2410.80 de leabhair a dhíol ag Aonach na Leabhair an tseachtain seo chaite! Ciallaíonn sé sin €1446.00 de leabhair don scoil anois! Buíochas thar ceann na scoile daoibh uile a chabhraigh chun an méid dochreidte sin a árdú dúinn!
Last week's Scholastic Bookfair managed to sell an amazing €2410.80 worth of books! We will be able to purchase 60% of that so €1446.00 worth of books for the school! Go raibh míle míle maith agaibh for your generosity in supporting the Bookfair.

Scoil dúnta 16/10/'17
A chairde, scoil dúnta amárach 16/10/'17 de bharr droch aimsir. As advised by the Department of Education and Skills, the school will remain closed tomorrow 16/10/'17 due to the code red weather warning issued by Met Éireann. If there is no significant damage we plan on reopening, at the usual time, on Tuesday 17/10/'17.

Lá gan éide scoile / Non-uniform day for Mercy Hospital Heroes
Nóta beag i gcás go bhfaca éinne an lá gan éide scoile ar féilire na scoile ar an Aoine bheag seo 13.10.2017. Tá sé curtha ar cheall go dtí an Aoine roimh an briseadh meán-téarma 27.10.2017. Bailiúchán i gcóir an Mercy Hospital Heroes Campaign a bheidh ar siúl againn inéineacht leis.

Aonach na Leabhar
Beidh Aonach na Leabhar ar oscailt amárach, Dé Máirt an 10ú Mí Deireadh Fómhair 2017 ó 1.30 i.n. go dtí 3 i.n. agus ar an Déardaoin 12ú Deireadh Fómhair ó 08.30 r.n go dtí 9.00 r.n. agus ó 1.30i.n. go dtí 3.00 i.n.
Is rud an-thabhachtach é seo don scoil ó thaobh leabhair a fháil de. Dá mhéid a dhíolfadh an scoil thar an dá lá is ea an méid leabhair a bhfaighfimid don scoil.
Ag tnúth go mór le sibhse a fheiscint ann.
The Book Fair will be open tomorrow Tuesday afternoon the 10th of October 2017 from 1.30pm to 3.00pm and Thursday 12th of October from8.30am to 9.00am and in the afternoon from 1.30pm to 3.00pm.
This is an important Fundraiser for the School in terms of receiving Free Books. The more books that the School sells over the course of the two days – the more free books we earn for the school.

Go raibh míle maith agaibh as ucht na málaí éadaí a tháinig isteach inniu. Iarracht mór níos mó eile ag teastáil thar na deireadh seachtaine le bhur dtola. Tá an truck ag teacht ar 9.30 Maidin Dé Luain (09.10.2017)!
Thanks a million for the bags of clothes that came in today. Another big effert is needed over the weekend, please. The truck is coming at 9.30 am on Monday morning (09.10.2017)!

Bailiúchán Éadaí / Clothes Collection !!
Iarracht mór ag teastáil chun an bailiúchán seo a dhéanamh! Téigí tríd bhur stuif anocht nó thar an deireadh seachtaine le bhur dtola. Is ar son na scoile atá sé agus nílimíd ag lorg aon airgead uaibh! Bheadh 3 nó 4 mhála dubha an teach go hiontach - agus cuir ceist ar bhur gcairde/comharsanna chomh maith!
Caithfidh na málaí bheith ag an scoil roimh 9.30 a.m. ar an Luan bheag seo 09.10.2017!!
A BIG effort is needed now to do this tonight or over the weekend. It is fund raising for the school without having to give any money! And maybe a beneficial clear out of the house as well. 3 or 4 black bags full per house would be great - and ask your neighbours and friends also.

Bailiúchán Éadaí / Clothes Collection
Shocraíomar bailiúchán éadaí a dhéanamh chun airgead a dhéanamh don scoil! Táimid á dhéanamh leis an comhlacht Lenrec. Féach ar na nithe a ghlacann siad thíos. 'Sé an dáta bailiúcháin ná:

Tá seachtain againn chun é a chur le chéile. Dá sheolfadh gach clann fiú mála dubh amháin isteach, bheadh €400 i gceist don scoil ar a laghad!
Am mhaith don bhliain é bheith ag caitheamh amach éadaí srl nach bhfuil uainn. Bheimís an bhuíoch daoibh dá dtabharfadh sibh tacaíocht don feachtas tiomsú airgead seo don scoil. Agus scaip an scéal mar is fédiri le gach éinne cur leis an bailiúchán seo. Dá mhéid a bhailímís is ea is fearr dúinn é! Níl le déanamh ach málaí dubha líonta le héadaí srl nach bhfuil ag teastáil a thuilleadh a thabhairt chuig oifig na scoile i rith na seachtaine seo.
We have decided to do a clothing collection to raise funds for the school! We are doing this in conjunction with a company called Lenrec. See the items that they accept below. The date for collection is:
Next Monday 09/10/2017, 9.30 a.m.
We have a week to put it together. If every family sent in at least one black bag of clothes that would make at least €400 for the school!
It's a good time of year to be throwing out unwanted clothes etc. We would be very grateful if you would support this effort to raise money for the school. And let everyone know because anyone outside the school can also contribute to this collection. All you have to do is bring the bags to the school office during this week.

Unfortunately the following items cannot be accepted:
