Tháinig Séad Ní Mhaolmhia, Mamaí le Nelsa ó Naíonáin Mhóra, ar cuairt le sicíní beaga i rith na seachtaine. Bhain na ranganna ar fad ard taitneamh as iad a fheiceáil. Ár mbuíochas léi as teacht isteach leo.
Séad Ní Mhaolmhia, Nelsa from Senior Infants Mom, brought in some small chicks for a visit during the week. All classes really enjoyed seeing them. Huge thanks to Séad for bringing them in to see us.

Bhí seachtain an chairdis agus frith-bhulaíochta ar siúl againn an tseachtain seo caite 16ú-20ú Aibreán 2018. D'fhoghlaim na páistí faoi conas mar a bheith mar cairde maithe agus rinneadar ceachtanna faoin frith-bhulaíocht freisin.
Friendship week took place last week 16th-20th February 2018. The children learned about how to be a good friend and also completed lessons on anti-bullying.

La Boulangerie, La Mairie, Le Complex Sportive, La Poste, Le Café, Les Caricatures et Le Cinéma san áireamh. Go raibh maith agaibh dár gcuairteoirí, Rang a 5 agus Rang a 4.
Ár mbuíochas le Múinteoir Natacha a chabhraigh leis na páistí an seó seo a chur le chéile agus a thug a cuid ama, eolas agus taithí dos na páistí comh maith. Maith sibh rang a 6, bhí sibh go hiontach!

Seo iad na rudaí sa bhosca caillte agus faighte in oifig na scoile faoi láithir. Má's leatsa aon rud beidh tú in ann é a fháil san oifig roimh an Aoine bheag seo 20/04/2018. Tógfar cad tá fágtha (seachas na píosaí éide scoile) go dtí an siopa Comhlucht an Naomh Uinsinn de Pól Chionn tSáile an seachtain seo chugainn.
Here are the contents of the 'lost and found' box in the schhool office at present. If you see anything you own you can retrieve it from the office before this Friday 20/04/2018. What is left will be brought to the Kinsale St. Vincent de Paul shop next week (except the school uniform tops).

Ficheall/ Chess 2018
Comhghairdeas lenár bhfoirne fichille a ghlac páirt i gcomórtas fichille le déanaí. D'éirigh go h-iontach leo! Tá club fichille iar-scoile críochnaithe anois don scoilbhliain 2017/2018, céad míle buíochas le Múinteoir Neasa agus tuismitheoir Olivier Queva a rith an chlub.
Congratulations to our pupils who participated in a schools chess competition recently. They did very well. After school chess club is finished now for this school year 2017/2018. We are very grateful to Múinteoir Neasa and parent Olivier Queva for running the chess club all year.

Blankets of Hope
Over the past few years the children of Gaelscoil Chionn tSáile have taken part in the "blankets of hope" programme to create lovely blankets which we gave to people in our Cork hospitals as a comforter as they underwent chemo.
We have started again in 2018, and have made great progress as you can see! This year the 6th class knitters will help 3rd to 5th class. They will go into the classes for an hour for 4 weeks after Easter in the hope that each of the classes will create their own blanket.
20 stitches, 20 rows – to end up as a square. So dust off the needles..simple plan and purl will do!!!
Huge thanks to all the kids, and all the Grannies who have been busy knitting and the muinteoirí who are very supportive of this programme

Beidh tag rugbaí ar siúl gach Aoine ar feadh 5 seachtaine ag ranganna 3-6, thosnaigh sé ar an 23ú Márta 2018. Mar sin, seo a leanas na laethanta le haghaidh éide spóirt don téarma seo. Athróidh siad i Mí Bhealtaine nuair a thosóidh rince. (Tag Rugby training during school time for 3rd-6th class every Friday for 5 weeks starting 23rd March 2018. See below for the days for school tracksuit. These days will change when dance classes begin in May (more info. to come re. dancing. )
