Blankets of Hope 2018

Thosaíomar ag cniotáil i rith na Cásca. Bhí daltaí ó ranganna 3-6, a máithreacha agus seanmháithreacha ag cabhrú. D'éirigh linn 9 mblaincéid a dhéanamh! Míle buíochas le gach éinne a chabhraigh. Bhí thart ar 2000 gcearnóg le fuáil le céile agus rinne Sarah, Denise, Sinéad, Ciara agus Fiona an cróiseáil ar fad. Tá Ionad Ailse Chorcaí taréis 15,000 bhlaincéid a thabhairt do bhardaí oinceolaíocta le ceithre bliana anuas. Beidh maidin caife ar siúl ar an Satharn 23/06/18 agus fáilte roimh chách.
We started knitting around Easter although some of the kids had been working away before then knowing that it was coming! With lots of help especially from their Nanas, the children from 3rd to 6th class have made an incredible 9 blankets. Huge thanks to everyone for encouraging the kids to knit. To the Moms who quietly sewed the 100's of squares to create the beautiful blankets..all told we had over 2000 squares and to the fabulous crocheting Moms, Sarah (Eve & Sadie), Denise  (Hannah) Sinead (Claire) Ciara (Jessica &Tom) Fiona (Martha, Enid & Tomas), míle buíochas.  The Cork cancer centre has donated an incredible 15,000 blankets over the past 4 years to the male, female and childrens oncology wards of the Cork hospitals.
The centre is holding a coffee morning and cake sale on Saturday 23rd from 11 until 3. Everyone is more than welcome to drop in at any stage to see the centre.
