Our thanks to the Parents Association for organising it. If your child has an allergy to the ingredients you can make a special mixture to give them going to school and special pancakes will be made for them.

Bhí orainn spórt ar an Luan a chur ar ceall. Beidh sé againn amárach ina ionad.
Please wear your sports clothes tomorrow (Wednesday 24th October 2012) and on Thursday (25th October 2012). We had to cancel sport on Monday. We will have it tomorrow instead.

Beidh féasta beag agus cluichí ag gach rang mar sin beidh cead acu roinnt milseáin agus cluiche a thabhairt leo chomh maith -níl cead cluichí/gléasanna leictreoineacha a thabhairt isteach áfach. Níl cead guma cogainte nó deochanna spraoi.
Ní bheidh an snámh ar siúl i mbliana. Pléfimíd cad a dhéanfaidh an scoil mar gheall ar an snámh, sna blianta atá ag teacht, ag an gcruinniú.
Beidh na cruinnithe tuis-múinteoirí ar siúl an chéad tseachtain tar éis an mbriseadh mean téarma. Rachaidh nóta abhaile ar an Luan (22/10/'12) le gach páiste le do am agus dáta.
Children may bring in €2 for UNICEF and dress up in their Halloween costumes for school next Friday (26th Oct 2012) before half term. Each class will have a little party so they may bring in afew treats and (if they wish) a game/toy -no electronic games -DSI, iTouch etc though. No chewing gum or fizzy drinks.
The swimming will not go ahead this year. We will discuss this at Board level and see what the school will do, going forward, about swimming.
The parent-teacher meetings will take place the first week after mid-term break. Each child will get a note to bring home about this on Monday (22/10/'12) with the time and date of your meeting.

Parents Association AGM
The Parents Association AGM will take place on Monday 15th of October 2012, 8pm at the Gaelscoil. The new PA Committee will be voted in at this meeting.
The school can not run effectively without an active PA. Anyone who has not come forward before, it would be a good year to have you involved this year, especially as many of our Committee members are not keeping their roles for the coming year.
If you are interested in becoming a member please be there on Monday evening.

I have been informed of a case of head lice in the older class rooms. Please check your child's hair tonight and treat it if necessary. It is very hard to get rid of head lice if each family does not look at their own children's heads. I am imploring you to do this to stop the problem quickly.

We are putting a list together of parents that are interested in sending their children to the 'Irish language medium unit' hosted at the Kinsale Community School. A meeting was held last year and a talk was given by the Principle of the Community School, Seán O'Brion. The next step is to provide Seán with a list of children's names who are interested in this 'Irish language medium unit', to determine if this is a viable option and getting an idea of numbers will dirve this. Currently we are only interested to hear from parents in Ranga 4 as they will be the first year.

Kinsale Junior Hockey Club
The newly formed Kinsale Hockey Club’s first JUNIOR training session will commence this Friday 5th October 2012 at Sáile Sports & Community Centre (Opposite the Community School).
Friday Training Times:
| Age: 6-9 yrs | (Boys & Girls) | 3.30pm to 4.15pm |
| Age 10-12 yrs | (Boys & Girls) | 3.30pm to 4.30pm |
| Age 12-16 yrs | (Girls only 2012/2013 season) | 4.30pm to 5.30pm |
Registration will take place this Friday 5th October 2012 at Sáile at 3.15pm (immediately before coaching).
Membership is €45 per term (Oct & Jan) and €35 for 2nd and subsequent children. Hockey Sticks (€8) will be available to purchase on the day. Shin & mouth guards are required.
