Uimhearthacht / Numeracy:

Rinneamar measúnú ar uimhearthacht sa scoil i mbliana agus i ndiaidh a lán imscrúdú a dhéanamh, bheartaíomar go raibh gá ann scileanna 'réiteach fadhbanna' a fheabhsú i measc na páistí.
Tá bhur dtuairimí ana thabhachtach chun pictiúr cruinn a fháil ar stad an uimhearthacht inár scoile.
Déanfaimíd iarracht i gcónaí mata a dhéanamh suimiúl, oiriúnach, ag úsáid mata sa timpeallacht agus ag úsáid ábhair concréideach.

We have evaluated numeracy in our school this year. Based on the conclusions of staff discussions as well as standardised test results,we agreed that 'problem solving' was a skill that could be improved upon amongst many of our pupils. As a result, we have focused on the development of this skill throughout this school year 2014/2015 and we will continue to do so next year 2015/2016. 

We always endeavor to teach mathematics in a meaningful way. We use a variety of approaches which include the use of concrete materials, group work and maths games when possible. We held a very successful maths week this year which involved many fun activities for pupils.
